| I hand-engraved this dazzling glass for a Twelfth Night gift (2007) for Mistress Amanda. The delicate designs are from a 16th century glass attributed to Giacomo Verzelini, then working in England. M. Amanda has a weakness for anything Italian, so I personalized the glass with her heraldry and patterns by this Renaissance Italian. |

| I think the best book for pictures of 16th century engraved glass is Wilfred Buckley's Diamond Engraved Glasses of the Sixteenth Century printed in 1929. I often use it for ideas for engraved glass designs Unfortunately only 250 copies of the book were printed. They were all signed by the author/curator. Therefore, the books are very rare. I requested my local library to get it through Inter-library Loan. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I incised this glittering glass for HRM Garick von Kopke for his coronation in Calontir, September 11, 2004. It won the "East Meets West Competition." I showed that the flowery acanthus pattern originated in the Middle East, found in the Dome of the Rock, and was later used as decoration many places. It was also on the 16th century glass I used for a pattern. I also inscribed his name and his heraldic device. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| While watching a fighting competition, I engraved this glass, on the spur of the moment. I took the heraldic designs from a friend's banner and merged them with some flower-patterns I had used other times. When I finished it I entered it in a competition "A Rose In Any Medium.." Later, I gave it to my friend, Baroness Roise. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| With this glass you feel the flow of its in-and -out shape. Therefore, I used a different pattern in each area to continue that feel. I hand-engraved this vase-sized glass as one of my requisite three entries in the July, 2001, Kingdom of Calontir Arts and Sciences Championship competition. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
