This page has a selection of 5 images that I've used for bookmarks. They are a great way to learn and make attractive gifts too. Children and young people enjoy painting them at faires.
Another page of bookmarks for you to paint. I gave these out for 12th Night gifts. I varied the colors I used so even though there were only 5 patterns each bookmark was the only one like it. I learned about color mixing and paint application this way.
This elegant but simple border has a place to add a logo, badge, or heraldic device or other favored design. I adapted it from manuscripts that were done in 14th century Bologna, Italy.
By adding text this pattern could become a treasured scroll, certificate, or award. It could be a hand-painted border for a special letter or poem. I adapted it from the 15th century Book of Hours of Rene of Anjou.
