My webpage for calligraphy, illumination, pigment grinding, engraved glass and things SCA. I hope this personal webpage gives you some jewels of value.
Calontir Scribes' Handbook
In these pages you can find what you need to get started down the scribal path in the Kingdom of Calontir. Click here to go to the table of contents .
Painting with Period Pigments
While gouache paints are commonly used to paint award scrolls in the Society, a more period feel in creation and appearance, comes from grinding and dispersing dry pigment in a liquid binder. To view the  webpage about my efforts in painting and teaching this, please click here.
Gallery of My Recent Calligraphy and Illumination
These projects became my babies that I freely gave as competition prizes or as award 'scrolls' in the Kingdom of Calontir and the Barony of Lonely Tower. To view my recent works please click here.
Gallery of My Hand-Engraved Glass
Hand diamond-point engraving can change simple thriftshop glassware into a personalized treasure. It seems it was treasured that way in the 16th century too. To view my diamond engraved glass please click here.
Patterns for Your Use in Calligraphy and Illumination
Here are some border and bookmark patterns I have designed. Feel free to use them for your projects. Enjoy them by clicking here.
Teaching, Studies and Learning
I have included  book reviews, class hand-outs, links, and competition documentation here. Some of the topics may even be on subjects other than calligraphy and illumination or diamond-point engraving. To view my information and studies page please click here.
Gallery of My Early Illuminations and Scrolls
This is my humbling page. I did not know that low-cost classes in painting and writing were available to anyone in the Society for Creative Anachronism who wanted to attend them. This shows the progress that is possible with the desire to keep trying. To view my early simple works please click here.
